St. John’s vs. Providence: How to watch live stream, TV channel, NCAAB start time

Who’s Playing

Providence @ St. John’s

Current Records: Providence 18-2; St. John’s 11-8

What to Know

After two games on the road, the St. John’s Red Storm are heading back home. St. John’s and the #15 Providence Friars will face off in a Big East battle at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Carnesecca Arena. The Red Storm are out to stop an eight-game streak of losses at home.

St. John’s ended up a good deal behind the Villanova Wildcats when they played this past Saturday, losing 73-62. Guard Montez Mathis (14 points) was the top scorer for St. John’s.

Meanwhile, things were close when Providence and the Marquette Golden Eagles clashed on Sunday, but Providence ultimately edged out the opposition 65-63. The Friars can attribute much of their success to forward Justin Minaya, who had 14 points in addition to six rebounds, and center Nate Watson, who had 17 points along with six boards. Watson’s performance made up for a slower matchup against the Xavier Musketeers last Wednesday.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Red Storm are expected to win a tight contest. Their home court has been no bettor’s paradise, though, as they’ve failed to beat the spread in nine of their 13 home games.

St. John’s is now 11-8 while Providence sits at 18-2. A couple stats to keep an eye on: St. John’s enters the game with 17.6 takeaways on average, good for 13th best in college basketball. On the other end of the spectrum, Providence is 24th worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 10.8 on average.
