What to Know
The DePaul Blue Demons are 0-13 against the Creighton Bluejays since January of 2016, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. DePaul and Creighton will face off in a Big East battle at 10 p.m. ET at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons are out to stop an eight-game streak of losses at home.
It was close but no cigar for DePaul as they fell 73-71 to the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday. The loss was just more heartbreak for DePaul, who fell 63-59 when the teams previously met last December. Their defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of forward David Jones, who had 17 points, and guard Javon Freeman-Liberty, who had 13 points.
Meanwhile, Creighton didn’t have too much trouble with the Georgetown Hoyas at home on Monday as they won 88-77. Five players on the Bluejays scored in the double digits: guard Alex O’Connell (27), forward Ryan Hawkins (14), center Ryan Kalkbrenner (13), guard Ryan Nembhard (12), and forward Keyshawn Feazell (12).
The Blue Demons are now 12-12 while Creighton sits at 16-8. Creighton is 9-6 after wins this season, and DePaul is 3-8 after losses.
